Description
For the amazing , with whom I am privileged to be art-trading. Her character, Aelin. Supposed to be practicing with his sword. I was going for a calm, concentrated type of expression, which hopefully comes across... I'm afraid he's a little too pretty, alas.
(warning: rambling ahead)
Well, the pose troubled me some. I looked up a bunch of fencing poses, but I wasn't sure what to do with the arm holding the sword. It looks relatively light and has a handgaurd, so clearly not a two-handed blade; my instinct, when in that pose with my short sword, is to have my other arm up and blocking my body, but I suspect this is a remnant of Tae Kwon Do. Not sure it would be practical for swordfighting, you might cut your arm off. So I just sorta left it there, in a pose of readiness to move.
Baseless.

I didn't have time to really comment on this sooner, but he looks great The details are beautiful and I love his expression. And even though the pose troubled you a bit, it looks quite believable (but then again I'm a simple archer and not a swordfighter XD). The sword is really nice as well and the expression looks great.
Also, just so you know: I'm working on my part of the trade. The legs are giving me some trouble, but besides that she's almost done.
